OK listen up....
One of the most important substances needed to maintain a healthy life is.......
Yes water is the key to life my friend.
But when it comes to fat loss a lot of people underestimate the importance of hydration and drinking plenty of water is one of the easiest steps you can take.
Without enough water the body will not be able to carry out all its daily functions.
For example your muscles are around 76% water and your brain is 74.5% water, also a hydrated body is more efficient at burning fat.
Just look at the image below and you'll see just how important water is and the part it plays throughout the body, the percentages might just surprise you!!
So if you want to achieve the highest level you can, be it in fat loss or sports performance, you cannot do so if you are dehydrated, you'll be about as much use a chocolate fireguard.
How do you know if you're dehydrated?
Simples, dehydration can show up in the form of dry skin, constipation and headaches.
An important factor to consider about water is that the kidneys cannot function properly without adequate water.
When they don’t work to capacity, some of the work is off loaded onto the liver.
This is bad news...
Because one of the livers primary roles is to metabolize stored fat into usable energy for the body.
If the liver has do some of the work of the kidney then the fat remains stored in the body and for many people fat loss comes to an immediate halt.
Here's a little knowledge bomb for you....
Drinking enough water is also the best solution for a common problem which is fluid retention, so if you feel like you’re holding water or bloated then you need to drink more water, the more water you give your body, the less it will hold onto.
You see, when the body gets less water, it sees it as a threat to its survival and begins to hold onto every drop.
Water is stored in extracellular spaces (outside the cells), this shows up as swollen feet, legs and hands.
So form a habit by keeping a bottle of water near you whether at home or near you in the office.
BUT remember you will still achieve GOOD hydration from eating plenty of veggies, salad foods, fruits, meats....basically from food.
The best way to gage if you are hydrated or dehydrated is by keeping an eye on the colour of your pee, the lighter the better, if its dark then you need to rehydrate amigo.
But Jason water on it's own is sooooo boring?
I got ya back on this one.
What if I could tell you ONE thing that you could do each morning right as you wake up to help your body eliminate some of these toxins, improve your digestion, stimulate your metabolism, and BOOST your energy, would you do it?

Here's the trick...
Immediately upon waking each day, squeeze about 1/2 to 1 full lemon (depending on size of the lemon) into an 8 oz glass of warm or room temperature purified water.
This is gentler on your body first thing in the morning compared to ice cold water. I've found that slicing the lemon into quarters before squeezing by hand is easier than squeezing halves.
By adding lemon or even lime to your water will not only give it flavor but will also:
1. Improves your digestion:
Lemon juice helps your body improve digestion and stimulates bile production. Lemon juice can even be an aid for heartburn and indigestion.
2. Boosts your energy for the day:
Even just the scent of lemon juice has been shown to improve your mood and energy levels, and reduce anxiety. Plus the detoxifying effect and alkalizing effect of fresh lemon juice can improve your energy through the removal of toxins from your body.
3. Helps you to lose fat:
Since lemon juice helps to improve your digestive system, aids in removal of toxins, and increases your energy levels, this all combines together to help you to lose body fat as well through improving your hormonal balance...
Yet another reason to add warm lemon water to your daily morning routine!
Bottom line: Stay hydrated throughout the day by drinking water regularly, add sliced lemon/limes for added benefits. Keep a check on your pee colour, the lighter the better :)
